Form meets function with our leather wrapped collars. Using the street-proven foundation of the 1.5″ Rigid Collar, we have wrapped the inside with the highest end American sourced leather available. Not only does the leather create a sophisticated look, but the leather protects the webbing against excessive wear and tear, is more comfortable on the dogs neck, and creates a comfortable surface to grab when using the collar to control the dog.
Underneath the layer of leather is mil-spec 1 1/2″ Heavy Scuba Webbing. Atop this first layer, we have sewn 1 1/2″ mil-spec Webbing rated at 1,000 lbs as well as 1″ mil-spec webbing rate at 4,000 lbs to stiffen the design and add the additional strength and support required by our most demanding customers. We took our 2″ wide rigid collar and reduced the width to 1 1/2″ for those who have limited amounts of real estate on their dogs necks due to the addition of E Collars, Pinch Collars, Slip Collars and other devices. This rigid design allows the handler to use the body of the collar to apply pressure to the points behind the ears to manually “out” their dog from a bite if he becomes unresponsive to your commands.
We use a 1″ ISC Klick-Lock buckle rated to 2,600 lbs in our otherwise 1 1/2″ wide design to provide an added measure of security preventing accidental un-clipping when the collar is grabbed at the buckle, yet still allows the collar to be quickly un-clipped in an emergency. A large Velcro panel gives you plenty of space to affix identifier patches or accessories. 2 available clip in point options fit any commercial lead attachment, including large diameter climbing carabiners:
1″ Steel V-Ring: low profile option rated to 4,000 lbs.
Soft Clip In: Inspired by clip in points found on climbing harnesses, it offers a silent solution that works with all existing clip in options.
Please note that leather is a natural occurring material, therefore colors and patterning may differ slightly from photographs. These collars are not “maintenance free”, the leather will need to be re-hydrated with mink oil or other natural leather conditioners when they start to dry out. If the collar gets submerged then be sure to rinse with fresh clean water, pat dry with a towel and hang dry overnight. This will ensure your collar lasts a lifetime. If you would like a collar that requires no further care then look to our Defender and Operator Series.
