Description
The Patrol Harness is made of durable mil-spec materials and climbing rated hardware—creating a strong, yet simple, tactical dog harness. This heavy-duty harness is made for Military (MWD), Police ( LEO), and Schutzhund (IPO) Working Dogs.
Heavy Duty Mil-Spec Webbing
We use the same type of webbing the military uses for construction of parachute harnesses throughout the entire harness design which is quick drying, mold and mildew resistant and strength rated to 7,000 lbs.
Padded Chest Plate
Padding at the center of the chest provides comfort and safety for the K9.
ISC Klick-Lock Buckle
Klick-Lock Buckles are redundant, meaning both sides have to be depressed to release the buckle and the release buttons are recessed which prevents accidental unclipping.
Integrated Handle
Our large handle gives you complete manual control of your dog and can be used to lift the dog over obstacles.
Molle and Loop Attachment
Loop covered Molle on the left and right sides of the harness allows the handler to attach accessories, pouches or affix ID patches.
Adjustable Shoulder Straps
Ergonomic shoulder straps utilize a metal adjuster for maximum retention.
Accessory Loop
An accessory loop at the apex of the shoulder blades is included for attaching any light or tracker that is made for 1" webbing. It can also accommodate or ID Plate for identification.
Chemlight Loops
Elastic loops are included for attaching chemlights to both sides of the harness.
Overview
This harness has not been strength rated for rappelling.
Great product well made. Problem was handle placement. When you pick up on the handle it just rolls over because its not center of the belly strap. I also run a long line on my dog and the handle just got in the way of the line. I cut it off and put a ID panel over it.
Thanks for the feedback, and we’re glad to hear you were happy with the quality and construction of the harness. The Patrol Harness is designed primarily for patrol and close-control use, so the handle is positioned for that application rather than as a centered lifting handle.
Based on how you’re using the harness with a long line, our Tracking Harness would likely be a better fit. Its handle is positioned so it can be used as a lifting handle, and it also features a rear attachment point specifically for tracking. That keeps the long line behind the dog and away from the handle, while also helping keep the dog’s nose down if pressure is applied to the line during tracking.

Amazing products
We are very satisfied with the harness. However, it would have been great with a youtube video showing how you adjust the two front straps.
Very well made, comfortable and easy to handle.
I have had the patrol harness since fall of 2020. Simply put I will never use another harness. 6 years later it has held up to hundreds if not more of a variety of dogs in various capacities. Now for the past three years its seen daily heavy and extended use and it has yet to fail me. The buckle remains in great condition through sand, mud, water and the like. Two minor wishes I have for this harness is an attatchment strap thats easier to adjust for a variety of of different dogs like a quick attatch and detatch system for different dogs. and the other being in the material edge along the belly strap seems to cut into some dogs if there was some sort of padding or softer material in that area. AGAIN AMAZING HARNESS just two small wishes per say!

The harness adjustment can take a little time to dial in, but once it is properly fitted, the buckles make it very easy to put on and take off. For that reason, we generally recommend the harness be fitted to one dog rather than regularly shared between multiple dogs.
The webbing we use is intentionally stiff at first for structure and durability, but it does tend to become more supple over time. We have not commonly seen issues with hot spots along the belly strap, so if that is happening, please reach out to our support team at contact@modernicon.us and we would be happy to take a closer look.
